Elbow storm the Arena

I’ve wanted to snap Elbow for ages. They didn’t disappoint. An extended stage cut the pit in half, so about 15 photographers had to cram into an area not much bigger than a car parking space, but as Garvey was walking up and down the walkway (or “vanity thrust” as he put it) it meant that if you were at the back of the throng at one point, you could be at the front the next. This gig also benefitted from some of the best lighting I’ve ever seen at a gig. Spot on. You can read my Northern Soul review here. I gush, unapologetically.
